Venice in Art, Architecture and Literature
with Adrian Mourby

23 – 27 January 2017

This 4 nights – 5 days tour takes you to an area of Venice rarely  visited by the groups of tourists which crowd around the main attractions. Guided by Adrian Mourby, the renowned travel writer and novelist, you visit the historic backstreets of Castello and Cannaregio and their most beautiful churches and hidden canals. Adrian Mourby’s third novel “Wishdaughter” was partly set in Venice and he has been visiting the city for 30 years. His knowledge of Venice is extensive and his enthusiasm is catching.

Venice in winter is particularly beautiful. “If you are lucky enough to be in Venice when it snows, then you are very blessed. Venice, which is never noisy, once you leave San Marco, falls completely silent as footsteps are muffled by the snow and the Baroque buildings of Venice are enhanced by being rendered in gorgeous black and white”.

The tour will be based in a highly rated, family run hotel Palazzo San’ Antonio www.hotelsantantonin.com beautifully situated on a canal. It only has 10 rooms which will be offered on a first come basis.
